Hey everyone,

Mermaidens (Aradia, artisankatie and myself) are very excited and proud to be the poster girls for the Australian Conservation Foundation's latest campaign. We're showing our support to establish a national network of marine reserves which will protect not only Australia's unique coral reefs but our beautiful marine life as well. We're encouraging people to take photos showing their love for the ocean and apply our fancy frame to show your support.

We'd LOVE to get mers from all over the world supporting this campaign, have some fun and join us in our cartoon world of turtles and fishies, hehe :) Click here (http://www.acfonline.org.au/get-involved/take-action/how-deep-your-love) to take action.

Here's the article that explains it all (from http://www.acfonline.org.au/news-media/news-features/all-fish-who-cant-vote)

‘I fish and I vote’ is a constant mantra from recreational fishers wishing to influence decisions in their favour but which are not necessarily in the interests of ocean life.

What about the 4000 fish species in Australia’s oceans, they can’t vote.
The problem for the fish is that the tackle box is no ballot box. How can they have a say in the future of their oceans?
That’s where ACF and a pod of mermaids come in.
To give Australia’s ocean life a voice, and to show how deeply Australians love their oceans, ACF has teamed up with mermaids Aradia, Nerissa and Volitania.
Mermaid numbers around the world are growing in support of marine reserves, as governments and communities realise their vital importance to healthy ocean futures.
How can fish have a say in the future of their oceans?

The mermaids swim, sing, tell stories, play games and talk about life under the sea and how important it is we protect it.
Aradia, Nerissa and Volitania are showing how deep their ocean love is, to urge the federal government to commit to oceans protection. Will you?
Attach our aquatic twibbon to your Facebook and Twitter profile pic and share it with your friends. Visit our Take Action page (https://www.acfonline.org.au/get-involved/take-action/how-deep-your-love) to find out how easy it is.
Why mermaids? Being half human, they symbolise the intimate connection that Australians have with their oceans. Being half fish, they can also represent the views of what lives in our oceans

Let's make a real splash! Get behind the mermaids and give fish a vote to show the depth of your ocean love (https://www.acfonline.org.au/get-involved/take-action/how-deep-your-love). Your action will send a strong message to the government to protect our oceans by establishing the national marine reserve network.
