I (http://www.etsy.com/listing/56711771/merfolk-mermaid-siren-dragon-elf-fairy) also happened upon these cool latex cosplay gills! They're super cheap, like $5 which I though was awesome! So I'm gunna buy a pair and let you know how they are but I figured I'd let everyone know about them incase you hadn't seen them. I know some mers in this community are more into the more fishy mer look where others are solely into the pure human top with a fish tail. I like it all and I think it's always fun to add more to my mersona whenever I can! I'm hoping to get some arm fins soon as well! XD

They look cool, but I'm a bit disappointed they don't come in different skin tones. I know they wouldn't work for me, and others may have the same issue with skin tone. Anyone know of a variety of skin tone paints for latex for things like this?

I have it more in my head...
But I am about to go buy my plaster for the arm fins!!! I just need to wait after a few weeks here... I had to buy a new phone and it kinda came out of my mermaid fund... :/ so not planing on doping it in the water :(

You could use makeup to make it your skin tone...most of all latex products you get are like that.... you have to set it your skin...

That would be AWESOME Coral Moon! I'd love to get a pair of ears that are bigger... I found one pair that were really big... but they were ugly... well I thought so anyway. I'd LOVE ears that looked like the ones in my avatar! They are kind of similar to the one in your link!

@Winged Mermaid- I totally feel you about the skin tone... the ears are definitely only in one skin tone... which sux for us folks of color XD I have tan skin and in the summer I get DARK! so finding a make-up or even a paint that matches my skin tome to cover it with will be difficult. Although... I have been thinking of painting them the same color as the fins on my tail. (since I have no tail at the moment they will remain un painted, but once I get one I think I may) lol!

Well then lets add those with the arm fins you would like too :)
I have been trying to play with the clay but its still to hot here... but it looks like it will be more like a night time thing then freeze it in the day... cuz I have been trying with my scales too...no luck there...and I'm trying to get some molds here!!! hahaha but once I get them started I sure will post up pics...

Also you can use benine (i think thats how its called) its a latex based body paint and they have skin tones that you can use on it to help get it your natural color, if you go with painting other colors...I suggest that you use latex based paints so that they stick better to your ears and sometimes we mix raw liquid latex in...but thats kinda advanced with experimenting..... cuz it will make your pain lighter if you use to much...
