Open ocean free diving shoot, advice?

Hello Mers!
I am a newbie to MerNetwork, but I was just wondering about open ocean free diving. Who has experience, what advice could you give a novice, common mistakes, etc.

I will be shooting in open ocean in Hawaii in the last week of October. Hopefully the wales will be there that time of year. I have been free diving just 6 months, and being that i live in California, I have only had lakes to practice in. So far Ive done a couple dives at 20 foot depth, 2:05 dynamic breath hold.

Info anyone?

Dude. This is in the FREEDIVING and SNORKELING section, as are other things you are commenting on about scuba. Scuba has its own section--go post there. Freediving is different.
