My first mermaid top!

So I've been wanting to make a top for a long time and finally got my tail in gear and dove in (like all my puns there?). Lol

I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with the lions paw or not, I bought a pair and now they're key bowls lol

So I finally ended up going with a combination of the two tops that inspired me the most: Of course Hannah Fraser's tops are just stunning, and I really liked how Mermaid Raven uses faux seaweed and netting. So there you have it.

I did end up loosing the netted dangly part, and just left the silver chain and shells, simpler is better :)

I'm pretty sure I ordered it through Amazon. It is a thin netting, which is why you can see in the pictures I double layered it. And it does have a smell to it, since it is actual recycled fish netting...
I actually still have a whole bag full of netting... I really doubt I'll be using it ever so I'd be willing to sell it. pm me if anyone is interested. I have a paypal

And Mermaid Brianna the pictures are pretty self explanatory so I don't think I'll be making a tutorial. But basically everything is sewn on to make sure nothing can come off. I did use fabric glue for some of the sequins. It was pretty easy... after I got into it.
You have to figure out what to do with some of the difficulties, like sewing with a stretchy material, but besides that, just let your imagination do the work ^_^

What kind of glue did you use? Just super glue? did you sew any of it on? I'm trying to make a top like this tomorrow and this week, and don't want to screw it up like I did my last top.

The glue is a sequin glue for rhinestones and stuff to go on fabric. Called bling and something lol.
And then most of everything else is sewn as well as glued.
E6000 is a really good glue that's works well for flexible surfaces.

What a lovely top! I really like it a lot! I'm pretty flatchested and when I do lion's paw and foliage, I look like I have a seafood buffet stuck to my chest...this has a nice, pared down look. Well done!
