Sea birth

Have you ever felt that you were born in the sea? And do you feel like the sea is where you really belong?

I wrote a poem in 7th grade about how the sea and the moon were lovers, and the moon would pull the sea towards her. He'd reach for her with his waves but could never touch her... The sea to me is something lonely and mysterious, as well as beautiful and frightening. I feel overwhelmed by it, but more a part of it than almost any other place on earth.

I feel a strong connection to the sea. I feel like even though that my body was born on land, my soul was born in the sea. Even since I was a baby, I always wanted to go into the water. I never felt more at home than in water. A lot of times I feel like the sea is calling to me, telling me to return to it.

i cant get enough of the ocean. While all my friends laze around in the sand i run straight into the waves ^.^ and splash around, riding waves, having fun. I just feel so at home there. Its weird to say that i suppose, being "land creatures" as humans, but i cant help feeling it. Delphinar and FireHair- i totally understand you!!
You know what i love? After a day of being in the waves, i can close my eyes and see them behind my eyelids... anyone else have that???

I know exactly what you mean! Or after being tossed around in the waves for a few hours, you lay down and still feel them??

The sea where we really belong. I feel like whenever I go in the water, I'm a merman again. I feel like mermaids/mermen are my true people.

:) I understand. When I was a child I'd pretend that I was a selk or a mermaid and swim to the very bottom of the town pool and just sit there until I had to breathe... I think if given the choice I'd rather have gills than wings.

My mom, siblings and I are the same, we are a family of mermaids! My stepdad takes me underwater hunting for lobsters, clams and snails and it feels like I'm a foraging mermaid in our underwater garden!
I knew how to swim since I was 3, and I grew up on a sailboat traveling the Caribbean with my parents. I will always have a special connection with the sea.
