Cephalopod Awareness Day itself is supposed to fall on the first saturday in October, though I've heard that there are also days for individual Cephalopods (10/8 is for Octopi, 10/10 is for squids and other cephalopods with ten tentacles, 10/7 I think is for prehistoric cephalopods like nautili, and 10/9 is for cuttlefish as between octopi and squids. I think that the week ends with a day for Krakens, Cthulhu and other mythical cephalopods, but the website about it seems to have changed since I lasted looked at it)
Inter-American Water Day is the first saturday of October as well.
The Navy Birthday is October 13th
Universal Music Day is the Second Saturday in October
The 3rd Wednesday of October is Hagfish Day, which celebrates creatures, like the hagfish, that aren't particularly cool or sexy or pretty... and in fact are often quite ugly... but that serve an important purpose in the ecosystem.
Reptile Awareness Day is October 21st
Navy Day is October 27th
And, if you don't celebrate Halloween for some reason, you might instead choose to celebrate National Magic Day on the 31st of October
November 24th is Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day
December 5th is Bathtub Party Day (no, I haven't the foggiest idea how one celebrates that)
Note that Brownielocks lives in the U.S., so any "national" days probably refer to the United States, though she does have a bunch of other holidays (including Canada Day and holidays for different ethnicities and heritages) on her list of observances.
