Hey from Australia

Hey everyone,
My name is Samantha and I'm 15 years old. I became obsessed with mermaids only recently in the past few years. For my personal project which is a big assignment we do over a whole year in which we create something and for my project, you guessed it, I'm making a mermaid tail. I'm using the 4 leftover wetsuits i own from my dads 'Iron Mans' and using the old neoprene to make the base and then covering it in latex, painting it and finishing it with a silicone spray. If it wasn't for all the helpful and informative people on this website i would be so lost with what i had to do so thank you all so much. My favourite mers are Mermaid Kariel and probably Raina Mermaid I love there tails and what they do for the environment. I live in Queensland, Gold Coast in Australia and if any of you are from a similar area please do you know any great places to swim? I also don't have a mermaid name yet... Any suggestions? My nickname is Sammi but I get called Sprite a lot aswell.

Welcome!! Us Mermaidens are based in Melbourne, which is pretty far from you but hey, same continent!! Excitement about your tail, you'll have to show us some progress pics as you're going along!

also, i kind of like "sprite". especially because a sprite is already a fantasy creature, i believe its one of the fae creatures actually. sort of like a faerie.
BUT, you could always go look up names that mean "water" or "ocean", etc., in other languages. thats always fun.
