First tail jitters.

Gahhh!! I just ordered my monofin. Im so excited!! Really really nervous but excited!! So now I have to come up with a design while saving up for the fabric. Im thinking of a goldfish tail. I was going to do a blue and green one but I have a huge love for goldfish, especially mine, so I might be doing that.
It should be here Wednesday. Did you guys get nervous when you got your tails? I guess Im just scared of investing money and it not turning out well. Oh well cant turn back now!!

Anyway, if you are doing a fabric goldfish tail I have a few ideas for you...

Oooo I really like that first one. The main part of the tail is going to be neoprene and I am going to paint the scales on, not sure if I want to airbrush it or use a paint brush. I still need to find out what to make the fins out of so thank you!!

OMG its here!! Its not warm enough to swim outside though.
There are little removeable inserts of the foot pocket. Do I keep those in or remove them?

I made a forum like this right before I bought my Fish Butt. I knew I wanted the tail, I was just afraid of getting something I didn't want in return then my family being pissed off I "wasted" money. But everyone told me that it would be a good gift for myself (Lord knows I needed it at the time), I should do it since I have the money, I put thought into it, and hell, if you don't like it, you can sell it and it'll most likely sell somewhere in the Network.
It is a large investment, but if you really want it, it's worth the money.

I should be getting my tail in the next few months, it's paid for and I cannot wait. Even though I'm having mine made for me I'm still absolutely freaking out that it wont be perfect. BUT IT'S STILL SO EXCITING!

I was telling myself this when the fin was on its way, "if I don't like it I can always sell it". Now that I have swam in it(the water was not that cold today after all) I have no regrets. Now I just have to design the tail and get the right neoprene and paint and wait for next summer. :D

Take them out, but I would keep them on hand. The inserts help if you are stuffing your monofin in luggage ;)

I was the same way when I decided to make my first tail out of Nylon/spandex. It was so exciting. Then when I had all the materials (and a photoshoot only 3 days away from getting everything) then it was stressful. But the day of the photo shoot I had sooo many compliments on my tail. It made it all worth it. I want to get a latex one to wear in front of kids but trust me....if you make your tail (or even buy one that is your design) it is WELL worth it

(and you are right you can always sell it to one of us mers on here if it isn't your forte)
