So, for a little over a year I have been working (on and off) with a a polycarbonate monofin. I'm a little stuck on what to use for the foot pockets, I am planning on using cut swim fins and then just giving it a smoother look with neoprene or thick spandex. What do you mers think of this? I am at school right now, but I will get some pictures up of the (unfinished) monofin ;) Thanx in adavnced!

I have watershoes attached to my lexan monofin. They work perfectly ^^

From the official monofins thread: Finswimworld offers individual monofin pockets for sale here. http://www.finswimworld.com/finswimming/footpockets.htm

Also if you look around other places sell footpockets as well. Finswimmers can be extremely picky about foot pockets (and for good reason), so different monofin sellers sell foot pockets by themselves so the swimmers can switch them out on their fin for a custom fit. Just have to dig around to find them! Try searching through the finswimming/freediving forums.

Good luck on your fin making! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

The best size of poly I found is .093 it's just less than 1/8 thick. I made mine with this thickness and it works great.

LindseyLu: How ome everytme I get on you are already gone? LOL. I am considering find a nice pair of swim fins to use, they work perfectly on anoher fin I made.

iblondie: actually had water shoes on mine but I had to remove them due to that fact that everytme I would lift my foot to propl myself, I felt like my toes were breaking O_o
