When I was swimming in my wave, the straps on it kept going down to the bottom of my heels. I tried making it tighter and that worked but then my feet stuck through the open toes part of the fin about an inch. Are the straps supposed to be that low of the heels? Its the right size as I am a 7- 7 1/2 in US women's. Can I fix it or will I just have to get over it?

that same thing happened to me, but my monofin was a from MermaidParties (now called Fish Butts). I used a piece of bungee, and wrapped it aroud the strap and drilled a whole in the top of the monofin and tied it there. And now ti works fine.

Oh I had this problem too! I found that if I turned the rubber strap upside down completly - unhooked the whole thing, turned it around and snapped it on again - it made it so when you are swimming the odd shapped part of the strap dosent hit your ankle and slide off.

it's okay if your toes stick out- keeps you from using them the wrong way.

That sounds like the same problem I've been having with the Finis Rapid. I was sure a Wave wouldn't fit because it's only supposed to go up to 8 and my size is 9, but I wear the Rapid with fin socks, which does make for a tight foot pocket fit, but I still had the strap slipping off down over my heels all the time.

I had to order a replacement strap for a Wave and modify it into the clips for the Rapid so that I would have a way to pull it tighter (shorter strap, so tighter). It stayed put during my last swims but still had that annoying feeling like it was trying to slip interfering with my concentration, so I'm going to try it with some hard-bottom fin socks I found on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/NeoSport-Wetsuits-Premium-Neoprene-Black/dp/B000LK1O8G/. They're in Men's sizes, the size 7 is the same as a women's 9 and fits perfectly into the Rapid foot pocket, but it takes folding them to wedge them in, so they'd have to be sort-of permanently left in the fin. Might be a challenge for getting it on, but the strap shouldn't be able to pull so much on the ledge of the hard bottom that comes up so I think it'll work. After all that I'm thinking I'd better get a Competitor or an Oceanika for a tail project though.

Maybe the hard bottom fin sock is something you could try if you got it in a Men's 4 or 5? It would likely depend on how much space there is to wedge it into the foot pocket. If you see any availability from the Amazon seller Outdoor Shopping, they're great about size exchanges.

you can get neoprene socks, grips them and makes it more comfortable :) read up about it.

It sounds like the foot pocket could be a little too big for you. Toes sticking out a little is OK, but sticking out an inch seems a little extreme. Kind of like Pebbles' idea, if you like you can make little neoprene toe covers to put your feet into that should make the fins fit better. I got the ones I use now from Dol-Fin, but have made them in the past. I could try to post a photo of one if it would help.

I have this happen to me all the time.
I got some neoprene socks from a friend, it helped a little, but not a lot.
Maybe I will try MermaidBrittany's idea :)
