I don't eat ANY seafood of any kind, and I posted a thread encouraging others to at least cut back their consumption to no more than once or twice a week, but, yes, I know it can seem naive and impractical, as millions of jobs are dependent on the commercial fishing industry, and I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to lose their job. I always hated tuna most of all, it's smelly, it's ugly, it's highly over-processed, it's gross. At least salmon isn't so freakin' nasty-looking!

For those of us who do like seafood, I found this great link that recommends what kinds of fish are more sustainable and what to buy instead of the environmentally harmful fish on the market like bluefin tuna. http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/sfw_recommendations.aspx

Yeah, david suzuki has a great one too! In Canada loblaws (super store) and costco have pledged to be sustainable

You don't have to feel powerless, Malinghi. All we can do is do our best to keep nasty unsustainable crap out of our bodies.

good video.straight to the point. i HATE large fishing companies.business including animal consumption is awful. its illegal but some fishermen wont use the shrimp filter things and turtles will get stuck in the funnels. =(

Damn. This sucks.

Something I've noticed whether it's overfishing, piracy, or whaling; politicians in most countries don't really get involved, which I think is really hurting the oceans. Even though the ocean belongs to all of us, some people are afraid to get involved and tell other people what to do in "free waters" but it's important to step up and speak. It's because of this fear of getting involved and causing trouble that things like this are happening in our oceans. :(
