Hey everyone,

It's Sprite and I'm creating a neoprene (out of wetsuits) and latex tail.
I have a few question though before I get started:
1. Do I sew the two pieces of neoprene together once I have finished the decorating? of sew them together then do the latex and decorating after?
2. If I wanted to pigment the Alex Plus with a blue, what type of a paint could I use?
3. Once I have pigmented and completed the tail, should I paint over the latex again, (details like in between the scales) ?
4. Finally, I have read several threads but some say spraying with silicone spray didn't work but dusting with talcum powder did but some say it's the perfect combination?
5. Finally, anyone else an Australian Mermaid? If so, where are the bestplaces to swim on the Gold Coast?
Thanks everyone,
Photos up of my progress soon :)

Hi Skysammi1, I am an Australian Mermaid from Victoria and I've been to the Gold Coast (around Palm Beach) and I can pretty much vouch that every piece of beach in that area is very beautiful. The sand is so soft and warm! But look towards the southern part of the Gold Coast and into the border of northern NSW for safer swimming beaches.

Good Surf, though. :) What part of Aus are you from?

Silicone wont bond with latex, they wont cure together, and the silicone will get all peely and gross. There's actually a few specific tail making tutorials in the stickied tail making thread that I think should answer most of your questions and maybe even give you some more help. Melbel has an entire tutorial with photos :) Are you using alex plus or actual latex? If actual latex, check out Dr Seaweed's thread
