so i may have figured out a way to make a mermaid tail longer with the help of my boyfriend
but how would i go about making it thicker.

one of the things i loved about the tails from the movie Mermaids is that they were thick and weren't shaped like legs, you couldn't see the leg lines and they tail wasn't shaped to the form of the legs. the tails were thick which gave them a more fish like look, the same thing goes for the H2O and Aquamarine tails.

so how do i go about it. do i had an extra layer of Neoprene, thicken the silicone, line the tail with some-kind of water proof lining? idk

Well, the h2o and aquamarine tails look so thick because they have like uber expensive foam inserts in them... But thickening the silicone might work...

H2O tails are a whopping 20k each, so I can tell you're looking for a cheaper alternative. I'd say the neoprene would work well, as well as thicker silicone. Neoprene floats so bad though.

Merman Jesses silicone tails have that similar rounded "fishiness" to them from what I have seen ( ...or ossibly drooled over. either way.) on his website and youtube videos. Maybe he would have some advice

You can make a tube shaped insert and place it between your legs against the neoprene running from your feet to your waist. Basically it's just a sock in the front and the back which can be filled with whatever you want, like dive leads.
