So, last year we lost one of our class mates from school.
Rosie was diagnosed with Cancer of the Liver when she was just sixteen. Instead of moping however she chose to make a difference. Rosie set up her own Charity 'The Knock on Effect' and her own blog. She raised money for cancer charaties through an art auction, zumbathons and through her online shop.
Unfortunatley, in September 2011 Rosie died of Cancer she was only nineteen years old. In her last blogs she wrote about how she would miss seeing her brother graduate or her sisters wedding. Over 400 people went to Rosie's funeral...it just shows what an impact one girl can have on a community and whilst many of her friends unfortunatley missed it whilst at uni, they were still there in spirit.
In January 2012 Rosie's parents decided to carry on Rosies fundraising efforts and set out to raise £20,000 in her memory. All of which will be donated to Rosies favourite charaties, most of which help teenagers and children suffering from cancer.
I hope you can have a look at her website and blog, she was truly an inspiration to me and I wanted to share this with all of you :)
