Merlissa's Pearl Headdress

Since I had a surplus of glass pearls, I thought I would put them to good use. I painted a resin sea star I had and put together a simple headdress to wear with tail shots. It has been reinforced with blue in several spots and the thread.

The starfish is on the left specifically to signify I am a taken mer. The purple thread will be painted bronze to hide it.

Ohhhhhhhhhh pretty!!!! I like how the pearls grow in length...how did you go about making that???

I took a plain resin sea star, painted it, then took lots of strong beading thread tied it around the sea star and put on the glass pearls. Each time I went around the main circle and got to the sea star, I added another row of pears in a longer length to the back and threaded the thread back through the front. When it was done, I added some crazy glue in places to help keep it strong as well as some hot glue under the star. I still have plans to paint the visible thread bronze to better hide it.
