Best way to mail a Competitor Monofin?

When I got it last year it was in this huge flat cardboard box that I think was specially delivered but I was at school at the time so I'm not entirely sure.

I need to mail mine so that I can get my new tail made with it. (: Just wondering if anyone had any experience doing the same.

I'd say put it in a thin yet long box and fill it with those foam peanuts for cushioning :)
