I had a dream last night that I was swimming in the Ripley's aquarium o.O I was having so much fun in my dream and I wish I could have slept a while longer. I remember coming up to Ray bay to talk to the guests and little girls were asking to feel my tail. :D Best dream ever!!!

I live in upstate NY and the only time the water is warm here is during he summer. But I think about swimming in the florida keys with the maatees or with the dolphins. If I was to swim in the Artic then I would really become a mermaid. LOL

I've swum in Miami, it was crystal-clear and warm and amazing! But my real dream is to ride a dolphin in tropical water., preferably in-tail. Or at least swim along, holding on to their fin next to them. Dolphins are so wonderful!

Anywhere where the water is clear, warm and there are lots of fish and colours! ^_^ I'm saving up to visit the Great Barrier Reef next year, so hopefully this dream will come true! :D

swimming anywhere. I swam in a mansion grotto, a marine reserve, and swam near a whale.never right next to the animals unless they come up to me and i still keep my distance.I respect wildlife :D
I think i would like to try lake Havasu. I like looking for the native fish while swimming. <3

Take me with you!!!!!!!!!! *laughs*
My fave places to swim are freshwater springs, so I am really looking forward to having a tail the next time I am in Florida!
I'd go back to the Barrier Reef. It's really lovely there and the water is just right. (Even tho last time I was there I got stalked by a juvenile barracuda)
I'd love to go to Lake Mackenzie on Fraser Island.
@vallee33. When you go there I'm coming too!

I love springs and fresh water deep clear rivers. So mostly Florida. I love the colder water. Warm water is nice, but not always.

Vallee, that place looks positively MAGICAL!
I myself am very partial to oceans as opposed to lakes/rivers. I would love to swim in the Great Barrier Reef!
Or somewhere with humpback whales. Or whale sharks. :)

I love swimming in the springs in Florida!
The ultimate swim for me would be at the Great Barrier Reef. Not to mention, the trip to Australia itself.

I had the weirdest, yet coolest dream a couple nights ago. I was in a gazebo and then I jumped into the stream of water under the gazebo and turned into an H2O mermaid. The weirdest thing about this was that the whole thing took place in the parking lot of the target I used to go to when I lived in the U.S. Even though the water was really shallow, I was somehow swimming with a dolphin, and I could understand the dolphin really well. I think his name was Percy. Then, someone from my old school came by, and I tried to swim away so they wouldn't see me, but I couldn't seem to move, so the dolphin pulled me away. :)
And then, another time, I was walking on a beach with a LOT of shells, and then I tried to run into the water, but the ocean became further and further away every time I ran. I guess thats how much I miss the ocean and how far away it is from me. :( So, the first one I guess is my dream place to swim. But my conscious dream place to swim is Hawaii. :)

Have to do a new thread on cold water swimming (just like you suggested mermaidAndrea: swimming in Lake Ontario or Lake Huron or Lake Simcoe in winter) I'm sure it can be done, just like the mermaids of myth.
Here's why I think so- there was a scientist who went diving in the arctic with Beluga whales in winter with no wetsuit protection. The story is here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2004042/Naked-female-scientist-tries-tame-beluga-whales-arctic.html
She talks about it in this video
http://youtu.be/oz4-2WgH47E
Now I'm getting more motivated to go in the Polar Bear Plunge this January!
