The Ariel Effect.

In my pondering of different tail designs I have come across an intriguing idea concerning the edge of the mermaid tail where tail meets hip.
Most tails I see try to make the seam blended by making it blend into skin color or by wearing a belt.
While I absolutely love both ideas, they don't quite satisfy me.
While some tails are truly fantastically made, no tail is perfect and sometimes there might be a flap of material by the buttox, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
And then sometimes I think "I don't ALWAYS want to wear a belt when I go swimming".
Well what about a third option? What if the hip part of the tail was like Ariel's but more realistic?

I'm thinking on doing this for my tail. What do you wonderful mers think??

I'd love to see that, actually. I don't think it could easily work with latex, but MAYBE fabric and silicone. I'd really like the way it looked if it could come out like I picture it in my mind.

Both my old yellow/gold tail and my golden Ariel tail have some extra fabric at the waistline ;)

Hopefully I'll be able to do this with my next tail. I want to do something like the challenge of Face Off where they made aquatic makeups and hid the seams with fabric
