So, I recently came into some leftover spandex, pink and black, and I have enough from each to make tails.
I have already decided on what the black tail will look like...

THANK U KORAL FOR THE TEMPLATE!
** Black spandex base
** Halo blue gold lumber paint
** Gold lumiere paint
But, I have NO idea what to do with the pink spandex. I have never been a huge fan of pink and finding a pink fish is even harder
Any suggestions are greatly apperciated! I will keep u guys up 2 date as much as I can, I'm so busy and 3 tails is just adding to my list.
That tail design is so cool! Good luck! ;)

Maybe something like these;
7930
-I love the stripes down the tail on this one. I've done something similar with sequins on mine.
7931
-you could do a color fade, like on the second fish in this picture. That would look pretty
Good Luck!

Yay for procrastinating doing homework :)
7933
-I love this tail design
7936
-I think this combination is really unique, and would help distract from the pink
7934
-some other ideas
7935
-and a few more
Hope this helps!

^ I am procrastinating as well lol. I like the blend of the orange and pink :)
I am leaning towards halo gold/pink lumiere as scales on the tail and shading on the side fins, but idk yet...this pink is more like PINK

The 1st one is the exact shade of pink as this fabric..it's SO bright! lol the only thing is that I want to add more to the pink..I don't want the whole scheme to be pink :p
I can't view the 2nd one, it's blocked on my laptop :/ ThanQ anyway :D

The second link is of a pink fish with yellow fade-to-red fins. Maybe yellow, orange and red fins? Some purple ones would look nice, too.

If you know any little girls, you could always make them one as a Christmas present!

I do know a little girl, however i already made her a tail for xmas :p
Finally decide that I am just going to go with the pink goldfish color scheme :)
Dark pink and some white fabric paint should do the trick!
I have both tails cut out as of last night. I had to cut the black one a little
differently, I cut the body in one section and the remainder of the fluke in another..
let's just hope it works O.O

If you take a look at my tails, you can see that I use 4 separate pieces of fabric, 2 for the tail-body and 2 for the fluke-part. ;)

Ah, okay. That is reassuring :)
This technique appears to work for you?

Yes, all my tails are made that way, even for the dolls ;)

I have glued the main body to the fluke piece using E6000...it appears to be holding up pretty well which makes me happy, I am trying to avoid seam lines in the two pieces :)Also got both the black and the pink tail pinned up...well, haft of the pink tail (ran out of pins) :/ lol that is all 4 now ;)

I got done sewing the black tail, with help from Bubbles <3, and we still have to work on taking it in a little more around the fluke and the thighs. We would have done the pink tail too, but my sewing machine started acting up again. I'm starting to think it has a mind of it's own O.O I will post pictures ASAP! ;)

Going to work on the pink tail later or tomorrow..not sure. I am considering going all out and doing a few sequins. I think the idea I have planned for the sequins would look amazing! I will update you guys soon, but for now..everything is on hold until after the holidays! Have a good one :3

^ I'm mostly leaning towards this one, with some dark blue fringe on the sides
8795
^ Probably won;t do this, but I do like it
8796
^ Again, I probably won't do this one, but i like it

Hey, Mermaid Saphira are the Lumiere & Halo from Jacquard Textile Paints? I've never used them, but all the Halos are gorgeous, though I wish they'd stay like they are in the little bottle. Any of the Lumieres ought to look lovely for a mermaid (or merman) tail. Cool! Best of luck with designs, making & the process.
