Hey mers! I was wondering.. Was there anything you wanted to be when you were guppies?

When i was younger, I wanted to be a doctor, pharmacist, forensics scientist, detective, broadway/stage actress, artist, fashion designer, interior designer, animator, marine biologist, socialite/famous blogger, comedian, crime scene investigator, lawyer... in the end i'm studying to become a librarian. what does everyone do outside of the mernetwork?

I always wanted to be a nurse when I was little, follow in my mom's footsteps and take care of the elderly. Rewarding, emotionally (big bucks involved too!). But now...I'm considering being a professional mermaid. Or a Ripley's mermaid. Or a Weeki Watchee mermaid. Or an aquarium animal specialist. No kidding! I have plenty of time to think, I'm only thirteen

Well i dont know if im still a guppy or not (17), but I will be going to college next year and I plan on majoring in marine biology. :) Thats the only career that I have ever really wanted! :P

I started out wanting to be a doctor then a vet then an artist and now I plan on going to college to be a midwife so its gone full circle back to something with medicine XD

I'm studying up in Business - Marketing. Cool thing is, I can tie in all of my interests and be a marketer for an aquarium, a zoo, my mermaid self, my opera-man fiance, etc. It's one of those skills that kind of lets me do everything I wanted as a kid.

I wanted to be a firefighter when I was a kid, later on I wanted something with creativity. At the end I became a ship engineer and a carpenter for ships. But the work I actually doing is managing our drawing system at our ship construction yard and secretly wanting to be more like Cakeboss on Discovery Channel.

I never really cared when I was a kid. xD I was always "Meh, I'll think about it later". Now that I'm 15 I want to be a vet or a marine biologist.

Now, I have found my true passion: Art!! I'm studying and working super hard at becoming a character designer for maybe... Dreamworks? Alongside that, I also want to sell some of my pastel work. I do a daaamn good pastel :)

Veterinarian and Oceanographer. I still want to be both and I'll be going to college for one or the other. I'm conflicted on what one I should do though.

I wanted to be a ballerina for a very long time. Then I wanted to be in a punk band and have a mohawk. A graphic designer, run my own bar. and now I'm studying to be a nurse. I don't know where I want to take that yet tho :)

I wanted to be a professional figure skater, but right now, I plan to become a professional ballerina (or an ice dancer) until I go to collage and major in marine biology. I've also wanted to become a vet, a doctor, a dog groomer, a dolphin trainer (until I found out how they're treated), a fashion designer (which I could still become), and, get ready, the first ever female president of the United States. (I'm still thinking about that one.) Yeah, so I've had big dreams so far! lol

Let's see....... When I was little I wanted to be a palaeontologist and an astronaut, then when I went to school I wanted to be an Olympian for equestrian and/or badminton (two things I was regularly competing in at the time!), and then I went to uni to study archaeology, but it didn't turn out all that great, so I studied medieval and classical history, but those didn't get me a job so now I'm back at uni studying Geology and Microbiology :D

I didn't really know what I wanted to be when I was small, but now I want to be an illustrator; ill be going to some kind of art university, but before that I'm going to this one year art school thing. Now I'm just practicing. BUT there is a small part of me that would like being a marine biologist too...or a professional mermaid :D :D

I wanted to be a doctor, vet, or nurse, until I realized that I can't stand icky things. Then I wanted to be a dancer, but I can't dance. I wanted to be an author, but that seemed like too muck work so I turned to editor. I also wanted to be air plane pilot or and air traffic controller. Then came marine biologist and it kinda stuck there. Right now I am just earning my associate's degree in science and arts, but when I transfer to a four year university it will be for a major Molecular Biology and a minor in Biological Oceanography. Which I hope to use that degree to get into Marine Biotechnology. :D

At my kindergarten graduation, as we walked across the stage, our teachers would say what we wanted to be when we grew up.
"And Hales wants to be either a cheerleader or a farmers wife."
Yup, that's apparently what I wanted. And I guess I didn't know that women could be farmers too! I never became either of those.

In 2nd grade I wanted to be a fashion model.
From 3rd grade to 12th grade, I wanted to be a famous actress.
Up until last year, I wanted to be a missionary. I still probably will be at some point, but just not as a lifelong career.
Now I want to be a marine ecologist. I'd love to work at an aquarium or something.
I'd also love to do work abroad researching and educating about the ocean. Preferably whales and whale sharks :)
And of course, my dream job is professional mermaid / dive master.

I wanted to a pilot when I was 15 and went to get my pilot licenses, I then discovered my fear of heights. I tried out to be princess at Disney, came home and went funeral school. I interned at a morgue, I got halfway and dawn on me that I couldn't sell funerals. I couldn't sell something that could put people in debt. I went to work for an adult store. What I want to do ranges from Shock artist to Corner to Sex ed Teacher to Nurse.

When I was 5 I wanted to be a cat.

In primary school, I wanted to be an entomologist, right up until I read The Lord Of The Rings when I was 11, then I wanted to be a linguist. In high school, it was the morbid professions that took my interest (coroner, mortician).

Now I'm just working on not going bonkers during my day job (office admin) and setting up an etsy or something to sell all the random stuff I make, and earning enough to fund all my hobbies which I don't want to be my job, and which weren't possible for me when I was a kid because my family was so poor (martial arts, archery, dancing, being a crazy person strong enough to have a crack at World's Toughest Mudder, learning every language I can, learning every instrument I can).

Oh, all sorts of things. Vet, zoologist, writer, editor for a publishing house that does scifi/fantasy, dog groomer, marine mammal trainer, belly dancer, forest ranger, psychologist, sex therapist, bar owner/tender in the Caribbean (my retirement plan, as it is!)...

I did get a B.S. in Psychology, but as I neared the end of my degree I decided I couldn't handle sitting around listening to other people's problems all day, but it does help with dealing with people on a daily basis.

I would really like to go back to school and do costume design (it's technically a theater degree here), and my mom thinks that's where I belong. The college here offers it (and it's the same college I originally graduated from so I should be able to skip the gen-ed requirements), but I work full time and can't afford to lose any hours so I have to see what class scheduling is like.

As for my Job?
I'm a Sterilization Assistant at a Dental Clinic! XD
I'm also a fabric tail-skin maker (for Aussies only.) The restriction helps me keep the demand down to a hobby business level. to be honest I'm really only making $15 a tail of profit... the rest goes into materials, so it's mainly to keep me feed with most of my money going into savings for my dream house.

Marine biologist stuck with me for the longest time, but that isn't really where i want to leave my mark. So now I want to be a character designer in the art department of Dreamworks, or Disney, along with selling my work besides characters, and an author :)
