Makeing my first tail

I'm making my first tail im going to make my practice tail out of some stretchy blue cotton ( i wont be swimming in it i just want to try it before i use the neoprene) today i took measurements and made a pattern and here is the picture ^_^

I think I'm going to do different tones of blue and goldish green

I think doing a mock up first is a great idea! Lots of people do mock ups before they work on expensive costuming material.

ok after alot of procrastinating i finally finished the practice tail (and a top but its still curing) i dont have a monofin for this tail so i used smurf skin but it floats so sadly i cant swim very well in it :( here are some pics ( and i will post how to make the top in another post)

haha for a first try that's awesome! good for you. so smart to do a mock up first I figured it would be a good idea but I still pretty sad that a day of working on the fin failed because 2 layers of smurf skin floats I will post a video of me swimming in it because it looks funny
