This news broadcast happened back in 2009, and I found a couple of articles on Nadya Vessey referenced on MerNetwork, but not the TV news clip. I thought some of the mers who hadn't seen the broadcast or missed the news about her special tail might enjoy seeing this video

What struck me was how beautiful the fluke is and how long and shapely the body of the design is. Also, the size of the fluke is similar in proportion to her body size as a dolphin or small whale's fluke is.

The tail cost about 50k - i talked to weta at the time as i work with paraplegics and wondered if something could also be created for others. Out of the financial realm but it opened other paths to pro tails
