Top to match my tail (In Progress)

So I decided that I wanted to make a top to match my tail that I am currently working on (Was going to make a top from polished abalone shells, but I'm not crafty enough to make it). The new top is made out of neoprene and it going to be covered in the same sequins at my tail. It's a mix of mainly black iridescence sequins, silver, red, and gold. I'm gluing them on right now because, well, I started sewing them and it took 15 minutes to sew on 3 sequins. So I decided to glue them, yes I know I will have to replace them regularly, but right now, don't really care... Here is the progress so far.

Probably going to run out of sequins :( One reason I started the top is cause I wouldn't have enough to do my tail, even though I ordered more :( But oh well. Seems this year is the year of major obstacles for me... if its not one thing, its another. Making me feel like I'm not meant to have my own tail

Don't feel that way! Of course you are meant to have your own tail! If you can dream it you can bring it to life! Don't give up <3

I totally agree. Sewing them seems to be not even worth it. Id rather have to replace them all the time.

I'm gluing them on for my top, but I plan on sewing them for my tail. During the process of making the top, I've noticed the glue has made the neoprene stiffer. So the last thing I want for my tail is to have an entire section that just straight doesn't flew at all because the sequins for glued together, instead of just the tail. So far, I'm about half way done with my top... Well, more like 1/3, but its getting there.

Hey just an idea, but i've seen people (Mermaid Shelly) sew through a whole row of sequins. Granted they were quite a bit larger but might be worth a try. I was actualy considering doing it but I was wondering if it might work?

I don't think it would be possible. The sequins I'm using are actually pretty thick

:) Thanks everyone. I'm loving my choice in sequin colors. They were supposed to be an iridescent black, but I like the fact that the colors look more like an oil slick, no 2 scale will be the same because of the color variations

Looks awesome! Are you using e6000 to glue them on? That's what I was going to use for my tail, but if it makes it all stiff...

Yeah. I'm using e6000. I know what you mean about it making it stiff. I think my next top, probably going to remake this one eventually, I'm going to sew them on
