15 people were injured and 3 sharks died when a 33-ton aquarium cracked in a Shanghai mall. The glass was 6 inches thick.

And people wondered why I was so nervous walking under the tunnel of sharks at the aquarium. Told ya. That's sad that the sharks died though, I hear that they usually don't last long in captivity. :-(

Aw, that's sad :( I feel horrible for those sharks :( :(

yeah it's sad on all accounts :( but just goes to show you, water creates an insane amount of pressure, even when the glass is nice and thick.

i dont think that actual aquariums use glass though, so i wonder why they did? also, WHY WAS THAT GUY JUST TAKING A PICTURE OF THAT POOR SHARK FLOPPING AROUND? he should have put the poor thing in some water somewhere.

that really sucks. how many sharks were in the tank originally?
