Hey everyone! Excited to let you all know that we have begun taking orders for our new line of fabric tails. Our fabric tails are made from a very thick, high performance spandex. This unique spandex is much thicker than standard spandex, which is sometimes used in other fabric tails. The thickness of our fabric helps to alleviate visible lines under the tail, including bathing suits and legs, and also adds to the lifetime of your tail. The fabric comes in a variety of colors, including a matte and shimmer finish. The waist is fitted with a sewn in elastic band to help prevent sagging and keep the tail in the appropriate position on your body. One of the most unique and exciting features of our tail is our the monofin, which is included in the purchase price. We custom create our monofins to have a traditional “dolphin fin” mermaid tail shape, while still providing excellent propulsion through the water. They are made entirely in house, so you won’t have to wait on a monofin shipment. The cost of the custom fit, high performance fabric tail, including a custom made monofin, is $275. For an additional cost, additional fins and fringe can be added to customize your order. Ultimately, we want to help you create your dream tail. Feel free to send us sketches and ideas and we will work with you to bring your dream to life. We understand that not everyone can afford a silicone tail, and we think that a well made and exciting fabric tail is a great alternative! We wear these fabric tails for our professional events and performances, and are happy to standby the quality of our product.

Thanks everyone! Our monofins are cut from sheets of polycarbonate and then hand sculpted to create the fin shape. We use a rubber to form the foot pockets which is then attached to the sheets of polycarbonate with another reinforcing plastic. They are very durable, comfortable to wear and provide great propulsion through the water. We have tried many of the best (and worst) monofins on the market and made ours to best fit what is necessary specifically for a mermaid tail! Made for mermaids, by mermaids!

SO sorry this took longer than expected. Didn't have my tail with me at the time. Here are some pictures with descriptions of what you're looking at. You can also see more pictures on our website www.themernation.com (http://www.themernation.com) or on our facebook page.

Also, to clarify, these are pictures of my personal tail. I created it to be exactly what I imagined, it has many features that would add to the price of the basic tail we sell (such as the back fringe and additional layers of fabric on the fluke). That being said, we are happy to work with you to create YOUR dream tail! Let me know if you wanted anything else, or had any more questions! Thanks guys!

The fluke detail of the tail. My tail has three layers of flowy fabric on the end to give it a bunch of "movement" in the water. The white/sliver layer sort of dissappears in the water, but it gives it a cool effect, almost slimy or fishlike. (you will notice that my tail design was much more fishy/dragon like than Laurens tail. I like the extra fins and movement that lots of fabric creates)

Here you can see all three layers of the bottom of the fluke. Each are edged so that they won't fray.
8861

There is a two inch thick elastic waistband in the waist, which is invisible from the outside
8862

Close up of the back dorsal fin detail. It is made from six layers of fabric, four of the sheer and one of the same green spandex. It looks very flowy and full underwater, not so obvious as it does dry.

Hidden velcro opening at the bottom of the fluke. It provides access to your monofin.

I will get some additional pictures of Laurens tail to post up soon. Her tail is a bit of a different look. I love it as well! It is sleek and streamlined, with a beautiful sequined fringe on the bottom of the fluke. Very elegant and beautiful :) As you can see, mine is a bit more fishy/dragonlike. Enjoy!

Hey Everyone! As promised here are a couple of close up pics of Lauren's tail.

Fluke detail of the tail - I love sequins!!!
8871

Entire Fluke - Velcro at bottom to allow you to easily take out the monofin
8872

Waistband - 2 inch wide elastic band sewn in. Tail is made longer so that I can adjust the height of the tail by simply rolling in the waistband - creates a seamless finish. Allows me to have a higher waist when desired like when posing for dry pictures.

And the final product underwater!
