Both the tail and the shots that popped up on DA are striking in their quality and the choice of model, nice to see a mermaid with freckles.

according to the DA you can buy tails, have them made, or rent, along with a variety of other spfx. It wouldn't surprise me if more spfx companies started offering tails.

It looks to me like the tails are a mix of latex or silicone and fabric.

Woah. O_O Those tails are... AWESOME!!! not exactly what I personally look for in tail designs, but they look so cool and realistic! :)
