Sorry if I'm not posting this in the right place, just wasn't sure where was appropriate.

I wanted to share some of my wedding photos with everyone since I had a wedding fit for a mermaid. :-) This was almost 6 yrs ago, but I'm enjoying reliving the wonderful memories as I share these with you. Hope everyone else enjoys them too.

Almost forgot the dolphins who did tricks for us every time someone rang the little bells for us to kiss during dinner...

When I asked about the dolphin tricks I was told that their handlers have taught them basic fun "tricks" to aid in their care and any performances they might do are simply to demonstrate these things while educating the public. While I don't promote places such as Seaworld who tend to turn these things into entertainment shows, I didn't have any issues with the information I was given at this zoo. The Shedd Aquarium does the same thing with Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and it's not a "performance" show as much as it is a short educational program that works just with the techniques and practices involved in their care needs.

The cake topper was a special order that I found online... wasn't cheap but I had to have it because it defined us as a couple probably better than anything else could have. It's made of blown glass and trimmed in gold. I originally wanted more mermaid stuff included in our wedding theme but found very little that was affordable that we could use. I guess mermaid weddings aren't a real common thing. So sad.

The wedding, overall, was amazing. Most weddings have their "uh oh" moments but ours never did. It was a perfect day in every way. :)

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the photos. It's fun to remember and be able to share it with others. Hubby is an aquatic biologist and we have a real life fairytale relationship. We met over the fish, bonded over the fish, and continue to surround ourselves with the fish. We both work in the industry, sometimes together... so to have been able to keep our wedding as perfectly in tune with all of that is just miraculous for me. It defined us both in every way. When I first saw the cake topper the only word that came to mind was "us". lol

I've already warned him that once my tail is made and once our daughter's tail is made, his is next. I expected some kind of protest but instead he smiled and said "ok, that should be interesting." Maybe some day we'll be able to replicate that cake topper together in real life. That would be truly amazing.
