Hello!I'm looking for a site that sells mermaid tail bags to carry the tails in.The only place I found was MermaidsRUs.com but I was hoping for something a bit more cheaper or maybe with variety I guess.

I don't know of any Mermaid sites, but there are some Monofin Bags out there.

I dont remember where, but some enterprising Mer has posted the design she's using to make her own "Tail Bag" for another friend. If these don't suit maybe you can make Your own.

I've been working on a prototype to have tested out for Shadow Fancy (https://www.facebook.com/ShadowFantasyCreations), but it's not quite finished yet. They will be heavy duty customizable bags built to tail specifications

Edit: Just dawned on me. I think you're talking about me Miel :P

artist portfolio's can work for most tails, but I have a competitor monofin and haven't been able to find anything that EXISTS YET that will fit it. Hopefully getting one from Lexia :D

there are many options, but they are not sold by mermaid sites.
However, i do know of a few who are still working on perfecting the before they can be offered.;)

Well I got my monofin from amazon and it came in a clear plastic bag that had little snap things on the handle to keep it closed. It's perfectly fine for a fabric tail, but I guess if you're looking for a bag for a latex/silicone tail, it probably wouldn't work too well lol

I use a surf board cover made from t-shirt material to carry my tail. It's great because you can fold it up (gently and temporarily), and you don't have to worry about it sticking to itself.

Merman Joseph introduced me to the WaterWay monofin bag. It's relatively inexpensive, but it works REALLY well!

I, Theobromine, and Mermaid Alexis all got WaterWay Monofin bags at about the same time and love them. I can't vouch for the standard bag, but the heavy duty is awesome.

Does anyone know how much the House of Flynn bags are? I'm getting a tail with a pirate fluke and I don't think the waterway will fit it. I could be wrong though.

Mermaid Lorelei

WaterWay will fit up to a Competitor Monofin. You'll just have to fold over the extra silicone. That's what I do with my Lotus Fluke.

This winter I want to make a tail bag. I work at a Joann's and love the outdoor fabric, maybe line with towel material with an extra flap to go inbetween the fold of the tail (trifold) with a zippered pocket on the front that expands to hold a top and accessories? My fluke is relatively small so it's good for a first draft. I actually bought material for a bag months ago but have been busy with other sewing projects.

Mermaid Tory

Oh great! I just clicked the link for the houseofflyn bags and they look a lot like what I had planned out. Now I'm not so sure since I figured if mine turned out well I could make more but I don't want to unintentionally steal even if mine probably wouldn't be the same quality seeing how I just have a simple sewing machine.

The House of Flynn bags look great and everyone who has them so far has great things to say.

I ordered a waterway and was never charged and it never came. I contacted them and was very rudely told there's nothing wrong with their site (I didn't suggest that...) and to try again which I did, and it still didn't charge my credit card. I emailed again to ask if it might be an issue because I am in canada and got back yet another rude reply.

So honestly, you don't want my business? fine. it sucks because mers seem to love their bags, but in total I think I ended up with 3 rude replies to very very simple and polite emails.

I got a House Of Flynn bag in prep for getting my FinFolk tail soon! I love it but there are some mixed feelings I'm hearing about how the fluke is facing downward and if carried that way could cause strain on the monofin. I think I'm able to switch the straps so the fluke will be carried upward but idk if should go through the trouble since I'll be using it for transporting, say, once a week (like from the car to a pool/location and back) ) and storing/laying flat while not in use. Or reposition it in the bag so it's on its side. Any thoughts?

If I bought one (which I would probably never do now after what happened to Mermaid Jessica Pearl's tail and how she was treated as a result of it) but say if someone gave one to me or something I would 100% reverse the straps before my tail went anywhere near it. Existing damage on a tail or no it proves that kind of strain it can put a tail under and while it might not be enough to damage a tail initially it can't be good for it in the long run. There is a reason why all proper monofin bags are the other way up. Sure it may have been a 1 off fluke (bad pun intended) but the way I look at it is this: do you really want to risk a $3500 investment when it'll take you maybe a few hours to turn the straps around?

Thank you for your input! I sincerely appreciate you responding. I was recently briefed on what happened between HoF and Jessica Pearl and it's very awful. This may explain why the HoF bag was on sale for such a low price. I bought the bag in advance thinking if I store/transport it correctly, I could help with its longevity when really, it can severely ruin my tail. I've been sharing about the bag all over social media and how great it is but I was completely clueless about what happened and I feel bad. Since I've already purchased it and my friend got one too since she just ordered the Mythic Tail, her and I will switch the straps per everyone's advice. I'll take a look at other tail bags that have flukes facing upward and see where their straps sit so we can sew it in a good spot! [emoji175][emoji224]

Wanting to bump this up again. Is there anyone who is making a bit of competition for the HOF bag? No way would I buy one as they are after how it destroyed Mermaid Jessica Pearls monofin. Any ideas if HOF is going to release a new and improved version? I do want a good, solid bag to transport my tail in.

This issue, plus the price, I've decided it would be best to diy one! I get to fit it to my tail and gain some much-needed sewing experience! Tbh if you cant afford something like this, or the original product has issues, i always suggest trying to make it yourself, its important to learn things like sewing!!! Or, if you've tried and cant seem to get it, finding a friend or family member to help is great!

In thinking about selling some like mine except i have to work out sizing because my fluke is huge, much bigger than most tails on the market besides the merbella fluke so i feel like it won't fit other tails as snuggly as it does my tail.
