Hello Everybody!~
I hope this is the right place to put this, if not may the admin feel free to move it!

A few months ago I made myself a mermaid themed shoulder bag to swing all my junk in as the day goes by. I've continuously gotten ridiculous comments on it all the time. A handful of my close friends demand that I make some for them and I've already made a Geisha themed and Avengers themed bag for two of them. (I'm trying to get them to send me pictures of the bags I made so I may show you.)

The bags are made out of 100% pre-shrunk cotton (some are flannel), handmade and custom made to the person specific design. The bag can be made reversible on request, with letter patches for a personal touch, and absolutely any design from a pick-and-choose selection. Without the strap the bag is 12" x 16", you can have a pattern design on both inside and out or a pattern and solid colour to the bag, I can add multiple pockets inside/outside the bag or just the standard one inside. The bag is totally toward customization! I can also make character themed bags such as, Disney, Avengers, Batman, Wonder Woman, ect. for an extra fee. (Because they are licensed characters.)

Right now, I'm going through a deep financial crisis in my home. We having hard issues trying to pay rent. I was hoping to add the themed bags to my etsy shop to help out with the family. I thought I would take the time to pitch the idea to you guys to see if any of you are interested in the bags?

I'M SO SORRY FOR THE HUGE PICTURES. But hey, better to see the details!

Here is the bag I made for myself (I'll be getting more pictures of other bags I've made soon.):

I picked a mermaid design for the outside:

The inside of the bag I picked fishies, at the time I only had white thread so you can visibly see the match up job on the pocket (I am extremely proud of it.):

For you ease: I am a seamstress who has been sewing for 6 years now. I'm also a cosplayer, I sew all of my own costumes, style all of my own wigs, and create my own props and accessories. I own my own etsy shop which has been active for close to a year now.

Here is the pick-and-choose sea themed patterns:
I apologize if the resolution is off, I'll be adding the clearer ones soon.

I can make smaller ones, yes! If you have a description of what you would like I can try my hardest to come up with it. :D

;D Great. I get my paycheck in about 2 weeks, so by then, I'll have a good idea of what kind of bag I want. I'll pm you when I'm ready to make an order. ;)

Oh! I love the Helm and Anchor one! It's definitely unique in my opinion.

I travel a lot as my name implies so I'm wondering how much a hand luggage size bag would be? Can you make it as a back pack? And I'd love it if it was a Union Jack material or something which harkened to where I'm from! Is all this possible?

Yes! I can. I've been wanting to make an Ariel themed one for a while. I have this Ariel applique that I would like to put on one too. :D

I can! I can make both a backpack and a messeger bag. Granted, I have yet to make the messeger bag, but I've been craving to for a great while now. I have made the backpack a long time ago, which I ended up giving away to a longtime friend (I remember it was Batman themed.). Measurement wise the messenger bag is H13" x W14" and the backpack is H14" x W11" without straps. They're pretty big in my opinion, especially the swing over purse. I must admit Union Jack material is hard to find. This is the closest that I have. I own like a yard of it. It has all of the famous landmarks on it.

I could try sew the design of Union Jack on the messenger/backpack or an applique if you wish. There are many designs to go from!~

ever consider making tail bags? I know there'd be a market for it, a lot of tails just wont fit already made bags. I have two tails, one is too wide for any conventional type of bag or luggage that we've seen or looked up, the other weighs 50lbs so needs strong material.

That is a great idea!!!!

Oh yes Ms. Raina! I have thought this on many many occasions! I have even picked and planned certain materials and designs, including padded foam to help with preserving and supporting the fluke. I have thought of adding wheels at the bottom to ease lugging it around and also straps. Once I get my own tail that will be the second project I plan on tackling! My goal with it is to help ease transportation, keep the tail safe while transporting, and keeping the bag durable. : )

Thank you! I definitely have an developed idea for Tail Bags, but I don't see it in the works at the moment. At least not until I get my own tail. :|

That's really awesome, and the bags look really cute. So for the licensed character ones and the extra fee, is it because you have to buy the cloth from licensed merchants? Copyright law has always confused me. And I love the penguin design :3

Thank you. Yes, there is a small extra fee for licensed characters mainly because the material is a little more expensive than the normal print. It would only be a couple of dollars more ($3-4.). It wouldn't be too much. Copyright has always been confusing to me as well.

My close friend had came over and I had asked her to bring the bag I made, she said she uses it as a purse and always carries it around. D'awww. I made her empty the bag so I could show you all the inside of it.
This is the Geisha themed one. It's got small Geisha on the outside and panda bears on the inside. The pocket inside is a match-up, so it's pretty well hidden, but it's there. See if you can spot it. : )

I know I'd be in the market for a tail bag! I have sooooo much trouble figuring out what to put my tail in... I used a dress/suit bag once. It was fun taking that through security.... I got some great looks on the X-Ray checking point :$

It's also kind of difficult to tell kids you're a real mermaid when they just saw you walking in with a tail... and LEGS
