I am sure that this has been addressed elsewhere, but as of yet, I have not found it.

I have a very large foot - size 10W women's - which mono-fin would be the best for my size? Is there a mono-fin company/maker that specializes in a larger foot?

Thanks much

I went to the Finis website and found these.

This is the foil, the size chart says a woman's US 10-11.5 would be a medium. The foil is great for making really wavy like flukes.

This is the Competitor, the size for woman's 9.5-10 is a size L. I think Raina has a Competitor in her tail. (Sorry if i am wrong Raina!!)

This is the rapid, swim outlet says Adjustable to fit men's shoe sizes (9-13) and women should choose 1 shoe size lower.

Here is a page on finis for all of their monofins, you gotta kinda dig until you find one you like. Im sure you know this but always look around for a good deal, I got my wave for about 30 dollars newly used on amazon. :)

Dacora - Thank you so much. The mono-fin is one thing that for some reason I have had a hard time finding solid info on.

I really appreciate your assistance.. :)

Sometimes the information is posted online, along the product. It might take a little digging to find it though... good luck!

Hi Whisper,

While the mermaid-themed fins like oceanika merfin tend to cover a smaller size range than your foot, all of the mainstream manufacturers of monofins for the freediving market make them in men's size ranges, and you're right within that range. A North American size 10W is equivalent to a men's 9 or 8, and since most monos don't have a heel pocket, the wider men's heel shape won't be a concern for you.

There are lots of brands with your size here http://www.scubastore.com/scuba-diving/Fins-Monofins/1081/s , along with neoprene & fabric socks for foot protection.

Thank you. I know when it comes to running shoes I have to buy men's because they simply don't make a women's shoe to fit...

Makes finding dress shoes fun.. :)

I have a question of my own:
i want to make a universal tail for my"mermaid 101" event in march. i decided i like a monofin with straps because i can change the size to fit each person. ive been asking people which size shoe they are.
the rapid/ wave comes in rather a 1-7 or a 8-12 mens, 9-13 womens.
does anyone have either the rapid or wave and what size shoe are you?how does it fit?

Just wanted o comment that if anyone is considering buying a Competitor monofin be sure to get the next size up. Normally I have medium sized feet, but I got the large and I am very glad i did! However I don't really know if that sizing applies to the other finis monofins.
I have a wave but someone else bought it for me so sorry i cannot be of help there. :)

^ Completely agree. I got and XL which is supposed to fit up to a size 13 (I'm size 11) and it was a bit too tight. If I wear them too long my feet hurt and I get bad blisters on the top of my feet. They are too small to fit with booties or swim socks so for just that reason alone get one size larger. That way you'll be able to fit socks and won't get blisters from the rubber foot pockets.
