An interesting article described on the BBC News about a group of Dolphins trying to help a sick pod member before it eventually passed away

Who said they are not able to show emotions....
I don't doubt that they have emotions. Dolphins are supposed to be smarter than us after all. XD

Thanks for the other links - very moving and sad, but joyous that such compassion can be exhibited by other creatures. As New Scientist says, we cannot be sure it shows true empathy (human way) but it shows that the group was strongly bonded and tried their best to help their companion in its time of need.
I share your sad eyes Drucilla. Life can sometimes be cruel.
