South Carolina Mers!

is anyone else a South Carolina mer? im working on a new tail and I want to have photo shoot sometime during the summer! I stay in charleston to be exact.

I'm in Charleston, too! I don't have my tail yet but I was recently sent photos of it so I expect to have it in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

It's a Merberry -- just a latex one until I can save up for a silcone one in a few years. I think I might try my hand at making my own fabric tails as soon as I get a paycheck that has spare funds so I can order a monofin. I like the idea of having "everyday" tails that I won't worry so much about getting ruined.

I was at Sullivan's the other week and thought that beach might be good for mer-ing since it's got that weird sandbar thing where it's got the little protected water area so you're out of the waves. I was planning on going there after I get my tail/get used to it at my apartment complex's pool/it's warms up.

oh cool i've been thinking about either getting a tail from them or fishbutts after my fabric tail is made...and I would love for us to meet and swim at sullivans or a pool once we both have tails!
I know it might seem weird but I really was getting sad not be able to find another mer down here to swim with and stuff! so hopefully u can understand how happy I am right now lol!

That's near Greenville, right? My parents are in the Greer/Mauldin area so I'm up that way every few months :)

Yes, they are quite close to Greenville~! I will know exactly when I will be back in the area once I get the itinerary for camp this year, but let me know if you guys want to plan a get together. :) I will be bringing my tail back with me to do a few touch-ups so I will totally be ready for a swim! And I have a few friends scattered about who do photography. I could talk to them about the idea of a photoshoot and see what they think. :)

A photo shoot would be an awesome idea, I'm currently in Mount Pleasant and have no other mermaids around to swim with.

I just moved to North Charleston from West Ashley and just got my tail a week ago. I'm having a monofin issue as it's too small, but I need to swim in it before I try to figure out what to do about it. I'd be happy to meet up to swim some time! My complex pool isn't open yet, and I don't know where to go at the moment, though.

I never made a post that I arrived. I'm back in Enoree for the summer. I will be here for a few more weeks before heading back to O'ahu. I'm currently working on a new tail, but I do have my old one that I can swim in if anyone wanted to try to meet up. :)

No worries. It would have been fun to meet up with some other mers, even if it's just you and another. My parents actually surprised me with a trip to Georgia. MAybe next time you're swimming by we can meet up. :)

I'm from South Carolina too! I'm no where near the beach though, but I still love to swim in my local lake and friends' pools. I'm way up in North Augusta, not even 10 minutes from the SC/GA line. I'd love to meet up for a swim, but my tail is still very much under construction and might not be finished until summer /:
