Anyway, what are your hobbies outside of mermaiding?

I *LOVE* marching band, concert band, playing the flute and piccolo, and writing. If I could be in my microbiology lab as a hobby, I'd do that too (but I'll use that as my career instead, lol) :)

I used to be a long time dancer, but the studio I go to doesn't take students after high school. So I just respect the art of dance anymore xD

I really love to write anymore. It's so relaxing. That and filming and editing.

I read comic books.

I read role-playing games (haven't played any in recent years since finding a group to play with and work it into their schedules is tough).

I write.

I read fantasy, science fiction (mostly superheroic... time and space travel annoy me), folklore, fairytales, mythology, children's books, erotic romance (mostly gay and threesome), coming out novels, and graphic novels.

I have begun working out more regularly.

I sing karaoke once a week.

I have been trying to go to a bellydancing class (but they've scheduled it super early on a saturday morning and I just want to sleep in then).

And I'm considering getting back into wargames.

I really love oceanography. I play ukulele and a little bit of violin and guitar, and I have friends who said they would try to teach me flute and clarinet. I like to watercolor paint, but I'm not very good. I am pretty involved in my Christian fellowship, so I do plenty of that. I really just love talking and hanging out with people. I also love reading, when I have time for it. I'm a full time student, so I spend a lot of my time learning stuff for my classes. But I can't even complain about that because I've been blessed with really interesting classes this semester.

Well, I'm attending college to become a theatrical costumer. But in the way of hobbies, I draw and write. I'm also an avid Swing Dancer, and like to go on group bicycle rides. (I have thing for antique bikes :B So I'm working on making a 1943 Hercules King bicycle into my daily rider)

I also have a tendancy to do things like this in my free time. (That would be me, fursuiting on a bicycle. Just for the heck of it)

I also role-play online with a friend of mine. We RP every day, probably too much!
I swim competitively when I can, mainly in the summer and I love to do it. I love the socialization, the swimming, the waking up early and of course beating some of my guy friends whenever I can. xD
I also like to roller-skate, paper mache, play with my three dogs...I have a lot of hobbies, I suppose. I don't get to swim or roller-skate often as it costs money that we don't have.

Omigosh, hahaha. I hate to ride rollercoasters, but my favorite thing to do is to "ride" them on YouTube. Soooo much fun. I left out one of my strangest hobbies--learning about amusement park accidents. xD

I have a coin collection. I don't go by years or anything, but I collect the state quarters (I actually might have all fifty states now, singles of each) and I have a few old pennies as well as some various other coins.
I sing, draw (although I'm not very good, but I love it), and I'm learning guitar. Sometimes I write poetry as well. I like writing in general, but poetry is my way of clearing my head. On top of everything, I occasionally make jewelry and rarely perfume. I like to make things. ^.^

*edit* I guess I should add this: I like to read. A lot. I've been yelled at for reading so much, and I can finish a novel in at the most two days if it's interesting, and when I run out of things to read, I'll even read random signs, labels, posters and warnings in classrooms and such. XD

I read a lot (I don't let myself go into bookstores anymore as I already have an entire shelf of books I own that I haven't read yet). Mostly fantasy, some general fiction (like Pat Conroy, but he writes fiction that takes place where I live so it's neat). I've recently gotten into graphic novels (Currently on Neil Gaiman's The Sandman series).

I also make costumes for Cons (well, one as of now as there are very few nearby that always seem to clash with prior plans) and several things that go along with it. Sewing, painting, jewelry making occasionally. My boyfriend Scapey does most of my prop work. I'll be teaching myself (with help from the almighty internet) scalemail and chainmail soon. As soon as I finish my mermaid top, my next two big projects are Gaige the Mechromancer from the game Borderlands 2 and Kaylee from Firefly.

I spend a lot of time on Skype with Scapey since we live 4000 miles apart. I guess he counts as a hobby, though I'm normally sewing or something else while we're on.

I also play some video games. Currently I'm on Borderlands 2, but will be playing Aliens: Colonial Marines hopefully within a few weeks of it coming out.

Finally, I'm on week 3 of the Couch-to-5k program, which I suppose officially puts jogging on my list of hobbies now.

I also work with polymer clay....its something about being able to mold it into something (when I can't mold my own life at the moment) and getting to pound, flatten, stab, cut, and destroy the clay when frustrated. Soon I will have enough inventory to open my own esty shop.

As for me, when I'm not being a husband, father to seven kids (ages 9-19), at work, or tending to the critters (dogs, cats, birds, fish, horses, donkeys, goats, a pig, sheep, and turtle) I enjoy playing music (original new age themed stuff via keytar and GarageBand), writing, running my online undersea D&D game, keeping saltwater aquariums, daydreaming, and planning an off-the-grid retreat. Get me chatting and I might show off my tattoos (I started getting one on each birthday when I turned 45) or collection of faux shrunken heads.

Hmm, I usually draw anime or comic style, watch my mother spin yarn, roleplay, and make my own cosplays. I have a LARP I do with friends; one that we came up with and created on out own. Though, seeing as most of my friends are in school, the most often we get to do stuff is on weekends. One of my other friends and I have an idea for an Avengers LARP, but the costumes will take a ridiculous amount of time to make, as I'll be the Loki of the group, and/or Black Widow. I live in southern Ohio. I live 20 minutes south of Kings Island who is owned by Cedar Fair (Cedar Point). I have a Platinum Pass every year.

I like Cedar Point, but it isn't my favorite park. I will be there on the weekend of May 11th to ride Gatekeeper, their new coaster.

I really enjoy Dollywood (have a pass), Holiday World in Indiana (have a pass), and I absolutely love both Busch Gardens Tampa and Virginia (have pass to Tampa). I also have a pass for all of the Six Flags parks.

I'm into archery, I got a set for Christmas so I can finally get back into it after a few years' break. For many years I was a professional musician. About 4 years ago I got very ill and my fine motor control went reallllly down hill. I stopped singing and playing. I've been very slowly trying to get myself back into it for the fun of it, and I'm at a point where I am finally just about to start a new duet group! :D really stoaked. I was really good when I was younger but now I pretty much suck. LOL It's hard to know you used to be able to do something really well and have to start all over. But, that's life. I still jam for fun, and I am hoping the duet works out well. I'm also addicted to karaoke. ahaha I play electric and acoustic and I have both along with an acoustic electric 12 string. I play flute, harmonica, and some percussion as well with a tiny bit of keys.

I also really enjoy photography. I got into it through being a model. I started out with film, then went digital. I model for a lot of photo classes and find I pick up a lot of tricks that way too. Cosplay: started with Lara Croft, and now I love to do Disney cjaracters XD Disney is my latest obsession (for one year by now) and I also love to : draw, sculpting with clay, femo etc. just being creative! ^^

Soo... Hobbies:

-I am a coin collector, and only recently have I taken it seriously. Throughout my life I have been given many coins or collected many coins from all over the world. I have most of those coins, but now I am focusing on collecting state quaeters, the most easiest and cheapest to collect. But I do have some interesting and rare coins in my collection. I also have collected paper money too, from all over. Mostly old bills. But it's fun to see what you can find!

-I used to collect key ring ornaments as a child... not sure where that collection went to. Oh and stamps... but again that was many years ago.

-I love to read and sew by hand. It gives me something to do, and create. Also, the repetitive nature of sewing by hand can be quite relaxing and a good indicator of how stressed I am based on how tight my stitches are.

-The internet (who doesn't like that) but more specifically, I don't watch TV, but instead I watch my subscriptions on Youtube and these are more geared to my interests anyways. (almost half of the video's on a daily basis are mermaiding, freediving, finswimming, or something with a monofin, related). The rest of my subscriptions are science, educational, or Vlogs, or other shows/skits, related. I find TV to be too dull, and scripted for my tastes.

Writing's probably my greatest interest, but I'm also fond of playing piano, swimming (naturally), and enjoying long walks. The woods near me tend to look beautiful no matter the season, which makes them all the more pleasant to take a stroll through, especially when they're at their quietest. :D I used to be especially partial to video games too, but although I still enjoy them, I hardly play them as often as I used to.
