So I have a cheap waterproof Camera, The first one I had broke the 1st time I used it, the replacement broke 1 month later... (still $80...)
I'm wondering what video camera's people have for underwater videos, and photography, If you could recommend any and tell me how they work. If you have videos too, I'll check them out to see the quality of the camera.
Thankyou xxoxoxoxo

First of all, what brand camera was it that you used.

We bought a 5 megapixel INTOVA IC 500 on Ebay for $115.

For the price, I think it takes pretty decent photo's and videos.

I have a Kodak Playsport and I like it a lot.
I actually had 2 of them. One broke when I was on a cruise, not any fault of the camera, I accidentally
forgot to lock one of the doors and water got in so it was a durf on my part.
To my surprise, I got a replacement on eBay for $30, which is awesome compared to the almost $100
cost of a new one. I had one of the older models, which works just fine, honestly, the newer models
are pretty much the exact same thing, just a little sleeker. The Playsport shoots video in 1080 and 700
and it has a mode called 700x60 where it takes 60 frames per second, so you can slow-mo the footage
nicely and it runs good. That's also a mode that saves battery and memory while still being really HD.
The Playsport is really good at taking pictures, too, but from a distance. When you get too close to something
I guess the camera can't focus or something because it usually gets all pixelly.

Here's some underwater videos:
It's on my facebook so see if you can view it or not
HERE (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=2092568550900&set=vb.1145851870&type=3)
Also one more:
HERE (http://s93.beta.photobucket.com/user/_Kanti_/media/100_0007.mp4.html?sort=3&o=60)

The Playsport is great because it has a display screen and is a good size (bout the size of a smartphone)
so you can quickly view and delete videos on the spot if you don't like them.
The problem with it is that sometimes water gets into the "speaker" area and when you take it out of the
water you can't understand or hear much afterwards.

I also have a GoPro which I bought from Lanai. I'm not sure if she had previously used it or not, because
it does NOT hold a charge at all. I also can't get it to read the videocard that I used to shoot footage so
I can't really tell you how good the footage is, personally, but I've seen stuff online for it and it all looks
really nice. Full HD (1080) so you can't go wrong with that. It's case also allows it to go deeper than the
Playsport.
But the main problem with the GoPro is that you can't view the videos. It only has one screen and it looks
like the screen on a calculator. It's just for settings, which sucks, because then you can't really see what
you filmed so you don't know if it's nice footage or not.

Overall, the PlaySport has been a great camera for me and it's affordable for most people since you can buy
it used off ebay for an awesome price! Just make sure you test it out thoroughly and read the listing to make
sure the person says it works so you can return it if it ends up not working.

I am interested to see the answers to this as well. I am scared to get underwater housing for my pro camera and wondering if I should just get a point and shoot.
