Tail Repairs to a Latex Tail?

I have a MT latex tail that is starting to need some TLC. Is there any way to repair cracks and tears and such or go over the latex with silicone to help protect it even further.

well you can get some paint that is close to the color to your tail and do your touch ups with an airbrush or paint brush...
acrylic paint is latex based paint...
