Hey guys! My name's Julianne, I'm 15, and I'm really excited to join the mermaid community! I'm planning on getting a tail from Fishbutts, but I need to make a design and wait until she starts accepting orders again. I don't mind though. I wouldn't have anywhere to swim now anyways. So for now, I'm just a mermaid in waiting:)
As for my history with mermaids, I've been obsessed with mermaids ever since I was a little kid. I watched The Little Mermaid on VHS practically every day, Ariel was my favorite Disney Princess. I would occasionally watch H2O when I was younger, and there was this one episode that stuck with me for some reason, the siren one where Cleo becomes an amazing singer overnight and all these guys come stalking her at her house. I even made a little mermaid song that I catch myself occasionally humming in the bathroom sometimes. Ah, good times.
Anyways, when the Secret Circle came out, I started freaking out because Phoebe Tonkin (Cleo) was on the show, so I went on Youtube to look her up and confirm my thoughts. Once I did, I immediately found a mertailor video of 2 mermaids in his tails. My immediate thoughts were, "Is this a dream?" and just like that, I knew this was something I had to get into. Last summer, I was busy working at a summer camp, so I didn't get to swim that much. When I was home, I dug up my old flippers, slipped both my legs into one side of my grey leggings, and I practiced swimming in my pool. My mom thought I was insane, but soon, I even got her swimming like a mermaid! Now, I'm just hanging in the chilly New England weather, waiting for summer to come around again so I can swim.
So that's me! Also, if you guys have any tips for getting around the site, let me know! I'm always open to learning new information. Thanks!
