In order to not feel so lurky, I thought I'd introduce myself.

I've been obsessed with mermaids as far back as I can remember...
My name's Shandy and I'm a mermaid fanatic. ;)

I've been reading threads here forever but have recently joined the forum because I'm about to embark on my first non-fabric tail-making experiment. I currently have a couple "dry" tails (a particularly beautiful pink one that was made by FoxMoon) and have done many dry events (I've performed in parades and have worked for many caterers in the past) but I am hoping to branch out into swim events.

This forum is amazingly full of talented, bright and lovely people. Thank you MerNetwork for creating a friendly place where we can all share in our mer-passion.

Glad you introduced yourself! :) Hope you can find all the info you need. Its fun to participate in the forums as a whole. Were you on a parade float? :)

Yep, I rode floats in a few parades. The biggest being the NYC Pride Parade.

Oh, I loved it! Being on the float was a blast and the organization who ran the float won an award that year from the parade committee. NYC Pride is the kind of event where the party starts at 10am and doesn't end until the sun comes up the next day. Heh.

Oh awesome! Very jealous. While I love mermaids, I haven't really done any events. That sounds like quite the fun experience. And those r the best kinda parties! :D
