This came across my mind the other day an was wondering if you as a male or female would wear something like this if it matched your tail? Like with scales or something like that along the line. An how would you feel if you saw both genders wearing something like this?

Not really, I probably wouldn't wear it. But if someone else wants to wear it, then thats totally cool! Maybe if I saw it with scales or something to get the visual it would be more appealing to my personal tastes. :) Would be cool so see someone try it

I don't think I'd wear one... Part of what makes mermaid so pretty to me is their upper body build/typical attire (or lack thereof).

Completely covering the upper body just take away what makes them appear half human/half fish.

I wouldn't, but it would be interesting to see on someone else.

I danced for nine years of my life--I'll probably personally avoid leotards for the rest of my life, lol (although one piece suits are a thing for me due to my competitive swimming)! I think it would be really cool as a design though for a top, on either gender. Especially if it were customized. Wouldn't have to worry about it getting all bunched up under the tail.

Hmm... yeah, actually, I like the way wetsuits and rashguards look on me, so I might consider wearing it. I figure I'll need to wear something under a tail when I get one, anyway, so why not something like that.

What were you thinking on customized Emma? Please tell more.

Oh goodness, like you mentioned a scale pattern would be pretty cool. Any sort of sparkles, sequins, maybe something to match a tail color or coordinate with it. For guys you could probably use darker colors or even use it as an undershirt of the sort if you had armor going on.

Yes, I would love to wear such types of clothes, because we must always try to wear some new types of clothes. They are just similar to my yoga clothes. However, this is really awesome.

I wouldn't mind it. I probably wouldn't wear something shiny, but since I wear one-piece suits leotards aren't that different. And someone else might really like the shine! I feel like covering the torso doesn't enhance or take away from a mermaid's allure, it creates more different types of mermaids. How boring it would be if all mers were the cookie-cutter mermaid with the shell bra and the same tail, long hair, etc! If we want to show mermaids as varied in culture as humans, we'll have all sorts. I feel like they're all beautiful.

But how would you feel if a male was to wear something like this Thalassa?

Sparkly? Meh, but then as I said I'm not a huge fan of sparkly, lol.

By "wear" do you mean wear on the street or with tail? With a tail, seems to be it'd be cool (although I've been told you want to be careful with leotard fabric and water, as the leotard ends up being nearly transparent sometimes). On the street, I'd probably look at it askance...but then unless you're obviously a dancer on the way to/from a performance or a little girl with a tutu, I'd look weirdly at anyone wearing a leotard as casual wear.

It'd be really cool if you could get or make one and scale it sort of like Hannah scales her tails. That'd look AWESOME.
