Ohio MerGathering?

This is basically aimed at the Great Lakes pod, because ohio is a nice central region for this pod of mers. So I was thinking maybe this summer there can be a meet up. Maybe at Walborn Reservoir in Ohio near the Akron/canton area. Now for this place we could not swim because it no swimming is permited. But pics and stuff we could. And the lake pool thingy called Lake Kim Tam Park. These ate both in Stark county. Kim tam is in Uniontown, Ohio. I am also open to suggestions of places to go in ohio for a day trip or more. And if for more, places to stay. But look these plaes up. :) tell me what you think.

i agree. I thought it would be fun to go to Walborn... But that is apparently only for boating and fishing. I think there might be too many dangers. But yea, my sister has been to Kim Tam and she said it was a bunch of fun. Like being on the beach minus the salt and dangers. Hahaha. So ya, if we could beget a few other mers, this might be something fun to do. It also depends on the ages of the mers joining because I am young, so this all basically depends on age and my mother's permission. ;) so I hope this can happen though! Ur would be so mug fun to be with other mers!

No, I'm a new mermaid. So either can someone help me or someone organize one. I'm thinking Kim tam would be easiest and cleanest. Lake editor is pretty gross and cold most of the time and there are large fish. And rocks. That some of the younger mers might not be able to do if they join. But, Kim tam is something we could look into. :)

Lake Erie has rats even in some places lol BUT Edgewater Park in Cleveland would be a neat place for an activist/eco-awareness type appearance. It was just an idea though, don't mind me, I have them a lot. :p

PS: Mermaid Nerin, I didn't mean to derail your Kim Tam idea. Sorry! It looks like a neat place. Depending on the date, I would be interested in joining you guys. My daughter is enamored with all the pictures and videos on this site. She would love it!

I think for a social gathering, your suggestions are great.

Lake Kim tam on Facebook, look it up on google it should come up. Dpes everyone (besides our writer, MichelleM) have a swimmable tail and hopefully someone has an underwater camera. I don't know when I will get mine, so just to be safe. Maybe, Michelle, you could write something and do something with it to get mermaiding out there. And I could take am quotes from you andante a video of us there and put it on YouTube. ;)

Everyone would have to bring the right amount of money to get in though, it's not much, but they have a lot to do all day! We I play volleyball for my school, so thy could be a break from swimming if we want, nuts its all up to you guys. Her you go... Right from their Fb page:

What date exactly did you want to do in July? I prefer a Sat or Sun although in theory I could swing a weekday, but I'd like to bring my hubby with me so he can occupy our daughter while we meet up.

I will have a website at some point. I am SO behind on ALL my projects. Gah. I have a werewolf novella I've been doing revisions on all week and I haven't touched any of my mermaid stuff :( *stresses* I want to release the first mermaid novel late this fall but I am not sure I can write fast enough!

Wolf's Lodge and Indoor water park near Kings Island would be a good meet up spot and they do allow tails in there waters as well. You can swim or go to the park and it can be a weekend thing for this pod . Also there one near Cedear Point as well and more locations are on there website .

How many people live near Kings Island? Maybe it would be easier for Northerners to meet in Akron and southern Ohioans, Indianians, and Kentucky folk to meet around Cinci? I will be around Cinci from the 6th-26th.

There is also clays park about 30-45 minutes from hartville. I forget the town I'll post when I remember. But it's kinda like Kim tam but you have to wear life jackets everywhere except one shallow region. And there are more inflatable and such. But you guys pick. I like both. And I now it's August now. But we can do it this moth or September. I'm not free a lot of the time because of soccer. Also we are having my sisters birthday on the 11 and are going to the zoo sometime this week or the next. Then I'm not free from the 17th-23rd because of my vacation to myrtle beach which I'm having a meet up there too. So far only Carolina Mermaid is coming. Then I start school the day after Labor Day. So you guys can also help organize this with dates and final venue. So thanks everyone. I hope this can happen. And when ever you mention a date ill see what my soccer schedule allows. :)

I'm would love a gathering as well. I'm a new mer myself but have been living a mer lifestyle for quite sometime now. I can't stay out of the pool, so might as well get a tail, right? Haha, well I'm interested in becoming a mer performer as well, and doing it fulltime and raising awareness as well about the conditions of the waters here.
