So Excited!

I just signed up for the bi anual Saqra Bellydance Showcase! I am going to do a mermaid dance there in my mermaid bedlah. Here is a picture of what the bedlah looks like currently (Well, this pic was taken in February).

The skirt (tail) needs to be taken in and I am thinking I might do an actual mer-bra instead of the dance top. I also thought about doing a veil dance with a fish net instead of an actual veil. Perhaps I will introduce that by having Mr Orca toss the net up onto me from the audience and then I turn it into a dance prop. Not sure yet, but either way there will be pictures in November and a video to go with it! :)

I just found an OLD bra that I was going to throw out and some fabric that is the same as the light fabric on the tail to cover the bra with. I plan to get some large shells and some other decorations to put on it, especially silver things to help it match the fringe since I think I am out of fringe. I am still going over details, but I am super stoked I have a bra to use!

I love that outfit! I think a more mermaid like top would really pull it together too :) I don't have any experience with veils but I don't think netting would flow the way you'd like. Then again for all I know you're so awesome with veils you can make netting look awesome. I like the idea of Mr Orca netting you though, even if it's at the end of the performance.
