Salutations!

I guess I don't have a fintastic mermaid name yet, So feel free to call me Freckles for now (Unless there's another frecklenamed mermaid swimming about, I don't want confusion!)

I've been interested in mermaiding for a while now, about four years or so, when I learned that people made swimmable tails and did shows. I was into mermaids before then, casually, I admit, but more and more I find myself planning out my future in the water.

I've got one tail, a cosplay piece I made back in 2008. It's two layers of yellow lycra and a bunch of hot glue. It's definitely time to remake it and consider buying a professional fin.

I'm friendly and happy to make new friends, so don't be shy.

I'm in Colorado and would really love to meet more merfolk in my area!

Hi Freckles :D ....its so good to have you here, im an Australian Mermaid from Sydney, i have always been into mermaids, even as a very young girl i decided "normal" swimming wasn't me and instead learnt to swim like a mermaid (forcing my little brothers and friends to join in lol) i would tie rope around my legs, im still in the process of making my tails (i have two in mind) and i have two monofins that i practise with twice a week :)
im sure you will make plenty of friends, Welcome to our community :)

Hi guys :) It's nice to meet you!

I'm definitely looking at getting my first monofin so I can start building up my mermaid muscles. My only problem is that I'm on a budget right now. I was thinking of going with the rapid from Finnis, since I could probably find that at a wal*mart nearby and not have to pay for shipping. I'm open to suggestions though!

Yay! welcome! I'm not the only newbie! I'm excited for your search for a monofin! I just got my first one about a week ago, and yet to have tried it. Your cosplay tail sounds like it was a lot of fun to make, and it's great that you're taking it to the next level!
again, welcome!

>w< You folks are all so welcoming!!! I love it. I suppose my hunt for a monofin is going be one that's solely an online adventure. But thanks to the forum I have some good ideas where to start!!
