So I remember this movie from my childhood. There was this girl that played a mermaid http://www.coldfusionvideo.com/m/magicisland-c.jpg
She had an awesome tail. Looks very well made. The scaling and colors done on it were awesome! I remember she saved the main character from drowning and was then granted the wish to become human for doing a good deed. At one point during the end, they are in some sort of treasure cave or something and the wish wears off and she turns back into a mermaid. Then they guy in the picture has to drag her out while the cave entrance is closing in on them.
I just remember that scene being super intense for me as a kid because her tail was almost crushed! It freaked me out but they made it out ok and she was carried to ocean and swam away. :D lol.
Just thought I would share. I also remember having some production pictures of the tail making process they went through but I can't find them. :(
