Hey guys! I just started up on this site and all this inspired me to make my tail! ( I've made one before but I was in the 5th grade and it was out of like cardboard and scrap fabric)
So I have my design and I'll be ordering everything I need once I get home from spring break but I have a few questions first.
I plan on having two side fins and a long back fin. What should I make these fins out of? Do you think I'll need a zipper going down the back? How am I going to attach these fins without having seams?
Thank you everyone who answers!!

I don't mean to be pushy but I would really appreciate the help on this!

It really all depends on how you want to do it :) There's lots of ways to attach everything, it's really just a matter of experimenting to see how you like it best. As for the zipper, that's more of something that's a personal preference. If you want one, add it ^_^ I personally like mine without a zipper. Don't have to worry about catching skin when zipping it up (doing that really hurts)

a good place to start if you need help is to look at the tail making tutorials that are on here, and to read thru other people's tail making threads. People may be slow to respond to you on this because a lot of this has been answered by someone else on here, sometimes many times over. :)

Thank you both for responding!
I've already poured through forums and such but I haven't really found anything on the fins. I want to make them firm but still able to move a bit. I was thinking about just doing more neoprene but I've heard people doing that and they said it turned out awful.

I've heard a couple people used fabric for the fins and used zipties to make them a bit more rigid
