Is there a reason why youre using gofundme? Wouldn't kickstarter be a bit more mainstream?

yea. the thing with kickstarter is its ALL or nothing. You HAVE to meet your goal in order to get funded. (it doesnt charge people till its met/they get refunded) so with gofundme, it lets you keep any and ALL donations

Ohh! okay. I had heard of another one like that before! I think it was Indigo-something? Not sure.
But yea, that's one reason I'm so bleh about Kickstarter. They leech 5% and I think amazon (the guys who transfer the money to you) take 6%. I mean, I read it a long time ago so I forgot, but it seemed like a lot of money so I never really bothered. I think kickstarter is for more popular people who KNOW they're going to get their goal forsure.

Is there anything that makes gofundme more appealing??

I actually abandoned kickstarter after reading the Indiegogo's terms. They let you go through paypal for payment and they only take 4%. Not sure if paypal leeches I tried to look it up and found nothing.

I like the fact that you don't HAVE to set a deadline with gofundme. I've got one going to raise funding for supplies for the fair this summer

I'm trying to save up for a silicone tail from Mermaid Creations, at the moment. I'm too shy to ask people for donations, though. I feel like I should save up for it, on my own. I'd feel a little more accomplished that way, also. Shouldn't be too far down the road, but for now I'm just going to make a fabric tail and put a monofin in it. :3
