hi! Lately on DA i've been seeing a few charity art books that send the money they make to causes such as childhood cancer research. And I had an idea, what if there was an art book themed around the ocean and mermaids that sends the funds to a non-profit organization that deals with ocean problems/ocean conservation. But here is where i run into a few problems.

-what should be allowed in said artbook?
-drawings and paintings?
-photography of human models, sculptures, etc?
- skill level?
-poems?
- short stories?
- who decides what gets in and what doesn't? (i was thinking of having a few people help me decide and sort through submissions we may get and help me with other things, if you're interested leave a comment here or PM me)

- what organization should benefit from the profits?

- how do we have it so that the book can be printed but the print cost doesn't come out of pocket ( i'm thinking we include the price to print in the price or we use a print on demand service)

- i don't use paypal a lot, actually i just got one, can i set up another one just for the money made from the sales of the book so i can donate ALL of the money in that account to the organization? or maybe make a folder or something? Or is there maybe another service i can use that has this?

- what would you like to see in the book?

-would anyone actually submit, even though they aren't going to be paid?

-would you buy it? what will it have to look like to convince you to buy it?

-any other thoughts appreciated ♥

I think this is a lovely idea, just make sure you really investigate the costs of putting the book together! I think most publishing websites include their costs already, and that creates the "list" price, then anything you add on top would be what you could donate. I reallllly like the idea, perhaps get a board together- and they can be the ones to decide what is included and what isnt? Just an idea. good luck!
