Tailmakers and merformers, if you haven't already, you may want to take a moment and reach out to your local journalists. Since there's been a big wave of mer-media recently - thanks largely to Linden and Eric, who said his site crashed from a 90% uptick in hits - now is a great time to pitch an article to reporters. Join the wave and make it bigger!
If you've never done it before, just write them a quick note to say hi, who you are, and what you do. Emphasis on the quick - reporters don't generally have a lot of time. A paragraph or two at the most.
Find someone who covers unusual things, features, etc., and tell them you've got something they may be interested in. Though reporters are busy, it helps them do their jobs when stories come to them.
