Hi everyone! So I'm only 16 so I obviously don't have enough money to pay for an expensive tail. Some of my friends and I had recently been looking into buying mermaid tails. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on beginner tails and the quality of different websites. Thanks!! :)

Mermagica has a good beginners fabric tail for around 100-150$ and that includes a monofin

Thanks! I'll look at some of those! I've kinda been considering the magictails but I'm nervous to order from so far away!

I think mermagica has been having some problems lately with customer service . I'd read the mermagica thread if I were you. I also suggest taking a peek at the tail maker list here on the forum :) also, welcome! ★彡

MagicTails have really great reviews except that the heels are very prone to rip. If you'd like a full tail, you could try making one yourself! I have an Oceanika (Mahina MerFin) and I LOVE IT! It's great because it's between a Finis Wave and a Finis Competitor. Good luck, and welcome!

Thanks for your help everyone! Unfortunately, its still freezing in Northwest Indiana so I won't be able to practice with a merfin or a tail anytime soon.

There are several tail makers to fit your budget/style/etc. I suggest you take a look at the 'buying tails' (http://mernetwork.com/index/content.php?133-mermaid-tailmakers)thread or, if you are feeling a bit crafting, you could try and DIY by checking out the 'making tails' (http://mernetwork.com/index/content.php?135-Tutorials-and-How-to-Guides)thread. Welcome to the forum :)
