Hello everyone,

I’m looking to get my TIP certification in NY and was hoping for some advice on the process. I know TIP (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification is important for anyone serving alcohol, but I’m unsure about the specific requirements for New York.

Does anyone know if there are any unique requirements or recommended providers? Also, how long does the certification process usually take, and is it all online or in-person as well? Any tips or personal experiences with TIP certification in NY would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello!

Getting your tip certification ny (https://certsuniversity.com/courses/atap-new-york-alcohol-certification/) is a great step, especially if you’re in a role that involves serving alcohol. For New York, there aren’t unique requirements beyond the basic TIP curriculum, which covers responsible alcohol service and intervention strategies. You can complete the training through approved providers like eTIPS, which offers an online course that's convenient and recognized across the state.

The certification process usually takes around 2-4 hours to complete, and you can get certified the same day if you pass the final exam. Both online and in-person options are available, but online is often more flexible.
