Hey I actually have two questions. One, when you go from swimming at a gig to dry stuff I.e. face paint, stories, singing, etc. how do you move around? I don't have a mer tender right now so I'm open to tips and suggestions. Two when you tank swim how big are the tanks? How many gallons?

thanks everyone <3

From what I've gathered from my own research, some mers have used a wheel chair, or have asked the parents beforehand to help out. Also for the tank, it's normally about 4 foot deep, by 5 foot across by 4-5 foot wide. So give or take, its probably around 900-1200 gallons

I have my husband, my mertender (he calls himself my merslave) lol, and he carries me at dry events and pool parties, helps me set up games and clean up. It's awesome. Although, I'm in the hunt for a wheelchair now because I'm starting to get gigs where he won't be able to come, but then I can always just ask someone to throw me in the water :-)

I know that Raven said that you wouldn't be able to move in a tank less than 1000 gallons. But getting a tank that large that can be moved is barely possible, as if you research it, it costs as much as a used car (I think?).

How do you get into a tank with a tail on? Or do you get into the tail when you get into the tank? How about getting out?

I think it would work if you had a mertender to help lift you in, or maybe use a pool ladder (going backwards the best you can lol)

I was wondering these questions myself :P The tanks are very uncommon, and are usually specially made i believe.

I have no problem making one (my dad's an architect) but my only concern was that my mom doesn't think the parents at the event wouldn't help me (I guess I'm just trying to prove her wrong lol). I don't have a set in stone mertender because I'm in highschool and my older brother works in the city :p

The tank that's being built for me is 5' deep 8' wide and 10' long. Big enough for me and maybe another. It's built on an old tailer do it can be hooked up and towed where needed. I was curious about the getting out part but we figured on building steps to be added in so I can walk in or crawl out

How much was your tank? I'm debating if I should build mine or buy a tank.

Considering that the event director is actually building mine....I have no clue. they have a budget for the event and I am not on the committee this year so I have no clue. But I can ask him next time we talk and see if he can give me a "general idea" for you :)
