Hi, I'm Simon from the UK. My first short story about a mermaid has just been published by Silver Stream Press, and I'm working on the sequel now. Where better to get ideas and tips for what readers would like to see in the stories than from the merfolk themselves? :) I look forward to discussing ideas about how they should be portrayed with you, and hopefully interest some of you into reading my stories!

It will be on Amazon within the next week I think - right now it's just on the Silver Stream website but many people have found it a confusing way to get the book onto Kindle etc. so I will post a link when the Amazon sale page is up. My avatar picture is the book cover, by the very talented Reese Dante.

Cool, looking forward to reading it.

My first merfolk novel was published about a year ago. I'm working on a sequel and another unrelated tale now.

The more the merrier!

Welcome Simon! Congratulations on having your first mermaid story published. We definitely need more mermaid fiction out there and have some wonderful writers on this forum :) Someday I hope to get one of my mermaid stories published.

I've finished the first draft of the sequel last week, so need to do a lot of editing on that before sending it to the publishers and hoping they want to put it out there... fingers crossed!

There are enough writers here now that I'm thinking that a Mer-Writers' sub-forum would be useful.
